About me, Amanda Harvey
I graduated from Middlesex University in 2004 with a first class BA honours degree in Creative and Media Writing. Packing a laptop and dial-up modem cable, I then went travelling, living off what I earned copy-editing CVs, covering letters and university applicants' personal statements via the first crop of online agencies. I've been earning my living from writing and editing ever since.
My first full-time writing job was for a veterinary organisation writing and subediting articles and news for their publications and websites, along with brochure content, sales letters, advertising leaflets, newsletters, press releases and PR articles.
I moved on to a position with a busy PR company, writing press releases and PR articles for large organisations, and proofreading my colleagues' work. My next step was a marketing manager role, where I developed my skills in web content writing and SEO.
I launched Writing Genie and my freelance writing career after my first child was born, creating www.stirandshare.co.uk as a shop front for my commercial copywriting and content services in 2019.
Even when I'm not working, you'll often find me writing, especially poetry. I also love cooking, walking, reading and listening to audiobooks.
